Hostinger Pricing Explained: Which Plan Should You Pick? If Any

“Wow, that’s a lot of plans!” was my first thought – and second and third – when I first tried to make sense of Hostinger’s pricing. The plans all seemed so similar, not just in price but in how they were presented, almost as if each one was a completely different product.

“Wow, that’s a lot of plans!” was my first thought – and second and third – when I first tried to make sense of Hostinger’s pricing. The plans all seemed so similar, not just in price but in how they were presented, almost as if each one was a completely different product.

I quickly realized I wasn’t alone in feeling confused. Hostinger’s strategy is clever but can be misleading if you don’t know what to look for. Spoiler alert: they have just a few core hosting plans, but they dress them up differently across their site to cater to various needs and preferences.

That’s what inspired this post. I’m here to break down Hostinger’s offerings, explain how they really work, and help you figure out what to consider when choosing a plan. My goal is to cut through the noise and show you that Hostinger’s plans are simpler and more versatile than they might initially appear.

Side note; if what you’re really looking for is a Hostinger review, then we have that too. In this piece, Martin gets knees deep in how good Hostinger actually is and he confronts three other users that have been with Hostinger for a while.

The true lineup of Hostinger products

When you’re navigating through Hostinger’s products and plans, it might seem like there are a lot of options that are very similar. The prices are close, and the plans seem to overlap, but they’re divided into different sections on their website. This can make it confusing to figure out what’s actually different between them.

What’s really happening is that Hostinger offers only a limited number of core hosting products. However, they use various pages on their site to highlight specific features or use cases of these products, depending on what a user might be looking for at that moment.

For example, there’s essentially no difference in terms of the core features between the hosting plans you’ll find under the “web hosting” section and the “WordPress hosting” section. Hostinger has simply chosen to emphasize different aspects of the same plans on these different pages.

To make sense of this, you can think of Hostinger’s offerings as operating on two levels:

The first level consists of the actual hosting plans available.
The second level includes the specific features or marketing angles Hostinger highlights on various pages – like “WordPress Hosting” or “AI Website Builder.”

Let’s break this down further, starting with the first level: the actual hosting plans available.

Hostinger only offers around ten main hosting plans, which can be grouped into two primary tiers:

Tier 1 – Shared and cloud hosting:

Single
Premium
Business
Cloud Startup
Cloud Professional
Cloud Enterprise

Tier 2 – VPS hosting:

KVM 1
KVM 2
KVM 4
KVM 8

That’s all.

👉 All those individual pages on Hostinger.com – like “Web Hosting,” “WordPress Hosting,” “AI Website Builder,” “Hostinger Pro,” “Cloud Hosting,” “Managed WooCommerce,” and others – are really just different presentations of these ten core hosting plans.

The second level consists of the specific features and enhancements that Hostinger highlights.

Some of the most prominent include:

Managed WordPress Hosting
Managed WooCommerce Hosting
AI-powered Website Builder
E-commerce Website Builder
Game Hosting (for Minecraft and other games)

However, these are not separate server technologies or standalone hosting types. Instead, they’re variations or bundles of the same core plans listed above, customized or pre-configured for specific needs.

Now, let’s take a closer look at these options and pair them with the features and benefits they offer.

Hostinger’s shared and cloud hosting

Single

This plan is Hostinger’s most basic offering, allowing for the hosting of only one website with 50 GB of SSD storage, 768 MB of RAM, and 100 GB of bandwidth.

This plan comes and goes; it’s not always available in Hostinger’s lineup and can vary depending on when you check the site and from where you’re being referred. However, it seems to be consistently featured on Hostinger’s Joomla and Drupal hosting pages. So if you don’t see it on the main listing, you can visit either of these two pages to still access the plan. The key point is that you don’t need to host Joomla or Drupal specifically – you can still install WordPress instead.

Enabled features:

Managed WordPress hosting, but with basic features only: easy WordPress installation and site-building wizard, auto-updates for plugins and core. No WP-CLI, multisite, staging, or object cache.
Installers for other website scripts like Joomla or Drupal.
Website builder.
GIT access.
2 databases.
2 subdomains.

Price:

First term / promo: $1.99/month for a 48-month term.
Renewal: $3.99/month.

👉 Get it from Hostinger’s CMS hosting listings – for example, Joomla hosting.

Premium

This is Hostinger’s primary entry-level plan, allowing you to host up to 100 websites with 100 GB of SSD storage, 1024 MB of RAM, and unlimited bandwidth. A free domain name is included for the first year, which is a nice perk.

This plan is available across several of Hostinger’s offerings – you can find it under the labels “Web Hosting”, “Managed WordPress”, and even in their “Website Builder” package.

The Premium plan is also the first tier where Hostinger provides approximate traffic ratings – estimated numbers of visitors that the plan can “handle” each month. The Premium plan is rated for ~25,000 visits.

Enabled features:

Everything included in the Single plan, plus:
Enhanced Managed WordPress hosting features, including WP-CLI and multisite installation.
SSH access.
Unlimited databases.
100 subdomains.

Price:

First term / promo: $2.99/month for a 48-month term.
Renewal: $7.99/month.

👉 Get it from Hostinger’s primary web hosting listings.

Business

The Business plan is Hostinger’s most promoted and popular hosting option. Like the Premium plan, it allows you to host 100 websites, but with enhanced specifications: 200 GB of NVMe storage (an upgrade from standard SSD) and 1536 MB of RAM. Bandwidth remains unlimited, and a free domain name is included for the first year. This is also the first plan in the lineup that utilizes two CPU cores.

This plan is prominently featured on most of Hostinger’s pages, as it offers the best balance of features and price. It’s versatile enough to serve as hosting for standard websites, AI-built websites, and WordPress sites, while also being powerful enough for new eCommerce ventures and even as the entry-level tier for Hostinger’s agency/reseller packages.

👉 Pro tip: If you’re interested in this plan, it’s best to purchase it from the main “Web Hosting” page on Hostinger’s website, even if you’re planning to build a WordPress site or an eCommerce store. More details on this below.

Enabled features:

Everything included in the Premium plan, plus:
Supports up to ~100,000 visits monthly.
More frequent backups – daily and on-demand.
Integrated with Hostinger’s CDN.
WordPress staging.
Object cache for WordPress.

Price:

First term / promo: $3.99/month for a 48-month term.
Renewal: $8.99/month.

Quick note on Hostinger’s WordPress hosting plans

Hostinger’s WordPress hosting plans run on the same infrastructure as their standard shared web hosting. However, they are slightly more limited compared to their “standard web hosting” counterparts.

For example, while the server parameters and features are mostly identical, the WordPress-labeled plans are advertised as supporting only 10-100 sites, whereas the standard web hosting plans can support 100-300 sites at the same price point.

Additionally, both types of hosting – “web” and “WordPress” – actually offer the same range of “managed” WordPress features.

Pro tip: Opt for one of Hostinger’s standard web hosting plans rather than the WordPress-specific plans. You’ll get the same features but with the ability to launch more sites and utilize more disk space. 🤷‍♂️

Here’s a quick comparison of the same plans on the “web hosting” page versus the “WordPress hosting” page:

Cloud Startup

The Cloud Startup plan is the first of Hostinger’s three cloud hosting setups. However, based on how Hostinger describes their server technology, data centers, and the way they categorize their hosting plans, it seems that these cloud setups are essentially a higher tier of shared hosting. This isn’t necessarily a drawback, and Hostinger isn’t alone in using this approach.

Moreover, the Cloud Startup plan is often positioned as the top-tier “normal” hosting option throughout Hostinger’s website. You’ll find it featured on the standard “web hosting” page, under WordPress hosting, Hostinger Pro, WooCommerce hosting, and other sections.

The server specifications are presented similarly to those in Hostinger’s shared hosting plans. The Cloud Startup plan allows you to host up to 300 websites, with 200 GB of NVMe storage and 3 GB of RAM. It still operates on two CPU cores, just like the Business plan, and includes the same set of managed WordPress hosting features.

👉 The primary advantage of the Cloud Startup plan is its enhanced performance, thanks to the increased RAM and CPU cores. Otherwise, the features are quite similar to those in the Business plan.

Enabled features:

Everything in the Business plan, plus:
Supports up to ~200,000 visits monthly.
Dedicated IP address and priority support.
300 subdomains.

Price:

First term / promo: $7.99/month for a 48-month term.
Regular / renewal: $19.99/month.

Cloud Professional and Cloud Enterprise

I’m grouping these two plans together because, in reality, all the cloud plans – including the Cloud Startup plan discussed above – offer the same features regarding managed WordPress capabilities, website builders, email accounts, security, and more. The only distinctions lie in the server parameters.

The equation here is straightforward: the more power you need, the more you’ll have to pay.

Below are the specifics of the Cloud Professional and Cloud Enterprise plans compared to the entry-level Cloud Startup plan:

Hostinger’s VPS Hosting

VPS hosting is where things start to differ significantly from shared and cloud setups.

Instead of sharing server space with other customers – as in “shared hosting” – you get your own dedicated subsection of the server to use exclusively. However, this doesn’t mean you have an entire machine to yourself – that would be dedicated hosting. Instead, you receive a “virtual” portion of the server.

Hostinger uses KVM virtualization (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) to achieve this. In simple terms, KVM allows your virtual machine to function as a fully independent server. This is because a virtual machine set up in this model virtualizes the entire server, including the kernel, network card, disk space, and even graphics. You can read more about it here.

Regarding Hostinger’s VPS plans, they all offer the same range of features (more on those in a minute), with the main differences being the parameters of the virtual machine. Here’s how those parameters compare:

There’s no specific pro tip here; you simply need to choose the server that you believe can handle the workload you plan to place on it. The good news is that the infrastructure is scalable.

Feature-wise:

All servers operate on a 300 Mb/s network.
There are automated weekly backups, plus the option to create snapshots manually.
You can choose from a variety of popular Linux-based operating systems, control panels, and apps.
You have access to an AI assistant to simplify your VPS management.

Minecraft and other game hosting

I’m listing Hostinger’s Minecraft and game hosting setups here as a subset of VPS hosting because that’s essentially what they are – at least at Hostinger.

All of their game server setups run on VPS architecture, with the only difference from the user’s perspective being access to easy-to-use control panels with instant setups for popular games. You’ll find simple installations for Minecraft, ARK, CS, Palworld, and more.

The pricing mirrors that of the VPS setups, but to give you a complete picture, here’s a table with all the important details:

All the other hosting plans are just gimmicks

Hostinger has numerous pages promoting different aspects of their hosting services. They offer a website builder + hosting package, an AI eCommerce builder, various types of CMS hosting, specific site builders for photographers, portfolio websites, and more. There’s a plethora of these options.

However, the key thing to remember is that all of these packages essentially promote Hostinger’s main shared hosting plans. You get the same range of features as you would with their web hosting packages, just branded differently to appeal to users looking for AI builders or other specific tools.

Hostinger’s other products

As a large company, Hostinger also offers a range of complementary products that pair well with their hosting packages. These offerings are generally straightforward and less complex than their hosting services.

Domains

Hostinger offers a solid lineup of TLDs, ranging from classic options like .com, .org, and .net, to more niche ones like .cloud, .online, .shop, .io, and, of course, .ai.

The pricing is competitive and aligns with what you’d expect from other major registrars.

Here are a couple of examples:

Additionally, Hostinger provides a free domain name for the first year with any hosting plan from Premium and up.

👉 For a detailed comparison of the top domain registrars and their pricing, check out this guide.

Business Email

As a reminder, Hostinger includes free email services with their shared hosting plans. You can set up multiple free email inboxes, each with up to 1 GB of storage, and send up to 300 messages per day – sufficient for most users.

However, if you need more, Hostinger offers “Business Email” plans that provide up to 50 GB of storage per inbox, additional email aliases, forwarding rules, and generally more advanced features.

Business Starter: $0.99/month (for a 48-month term; then $1.59), 10 GB of storage and 10 forwarding rules.
Business Premium: $2.99/month (for a 48-month term; then $3.99), 50 GB of storage and 50 forwarding rules.

Note that these prices are per inbox.

At a glance

At first, Hostinger’s hosting plans might seem overwhelming and confusing, with what appears to be a multitude of options. However, once you dig deeper, you’ll quickly realize that there are really just a few core plans, with the rest being variations mainly for marketing purposes.

Here’s a comprehensive comparison table of all the individual hosting plans and what they offer:

Final recommendations

After spending hours reviewing all of Hostinger’s landing pages and regularly testing their performance with our test accounts, I believe that the Premium or Business plans are the best options for most users who want to run a WordPress site with Hostinger.

The choice between Premium and Business largely depends on your need for staging tools or performance enhancements like CDN or object cache. Additionally, if you’re planning to run a WooCommerce store, the Business plan’s 0% transaction fees can be a significant advantage.
